www.aliciabaylaurel.com
Alicia Bay Laurel, this singer, songwriter, guitarist
and steadfast hippie, is the very talented illustrator
of the line drawings on our original website. She is
also the author and illustrator of “Living on the
Earth.”
When we depend less on industrially produced consumer goods, we can live in quiet places. Our bodies become vigorous; we discover the serenity of living with the rhythms of the earth. We cease oppressing one another.
This book was a huge inspiration to us and is still relevant even 35 or so years after its first publication. Her illustrations have gone a long way to building the feeling of our business and our image and we owe her our appreciation and gratitude.
www.fincaixobel.com
Finca Ixobel, Ruth first stayed here on a grand
adventure in 1992, that stay extended for longer than
expected and she has been back twice including 'en
famille'. It is her favorite place to stay and has a
special place in her heart. A beautiful place operated
by strong and visionary people.
www.cornishtipiholidays.co.uk
The original. When we came up with the seed of our idea
- over lunch in southern Spain in 2001- we browsed the
very slow and not so densley populated internet for
examples. Cornish Tipi holidays were the only people
already out there in front. We love their site and the
ideaology behind what they offer. A beautiful business
and website, very clear and true in spirit.
www.todaywasfun.com
Today Was Fun, purveyors of very special teas with
philosophy on the side, their unfailingly regular web
news-letter has kept us uplifted during winter months
at the keyboard, a hot mug of Inspiration tea steaming
beside us.
For centuries people have known that wisdom and advice, love and support, news and gossip, all go better with a cup of tea. Tea and philosophy go together so naturally it was obvious we should combine the two.
www.flamencoazabache.com
Website of Juan Antonio Perez and the flamenco dance company and school Flamenco Azabache.
Based in Fuengirola, Spain (and only minutes walk from the beach),
Juan is an inspirational teacher and an extremely talented flamenco dancer.
In addition to theatre performances, Flamenco Azabache perform free shows for tourists in Mijas and at la Cala de Mijas.
www.flamencoholidays.com
Ruth and Luds have fond memories of Spain, where they
lived for a while before settling down in France.
Flamenco Holidays offer a wonderful opportunity to
experience life in a traditional Spanish town during
Feria week and at the same time, learn to dance
Flamenco or to play Flamenco guitar. There are
some great photos and videos on the website where you
can watch the students performing for the locals.
